The DollsBook Wedding Chapel is now open for business. One of my official achievements as a doll was to become an actual ordained minister of the Universal Life Church with all the powers and privileges that go with it including the power to perform legal wedding ceremonies. In this capacity I offer my services for any couple ready to enter into matrimony.

I present a copy of my credentials and an actual professionally printed on heavy stock with foil inlay (they are nice) official Marriage Certificate. For any couple who would choose to do so we can perform the ceremony right here through the chat setup and I will provide and send you the official certificate filled out in any names you would like.

One more important thing I will absolutely keep completely confidential any information provided by members, names on certificate, mailing addresses and anything else. I can also provide certificates with only my name as pastor and a witness from my end and leave the couples name space blank to be filled in by themselves if requested. This is a very loose type of arrangement we are making and is open to almost anything, Just Ask. Thanks

At this time I have only the one very nice Marriage Certificate shown above for the first to make a reservation and it will go to Alexa and Daphne. I will get on the ball and order up some more to have on hand. December 13 would be fine, sometime in the evening, as the time gets closer we can arrange the details of the Ceremony to wed Alexa and Daphne. Everything will be exactly like a real ceremony only the marriage never gets filed officially. If you have any special vows you wish to exchange get to work on them and we will keep in touch. Question, is there some way to do a group chat or something to have maybe others be able to follow the ceremony as witnesses?

 

Oh yeah , one last thing, that other place is just going to miss out on being part of the first online ministry exclusively for Dolls and their companions. It was offered and totally ignored, their loss.

I also ordered up some more marriage certificates. A little different from the one pictured above though so I will post a photo when they arrive in 7 to 10 days.

I just found out from Alexa @KI5JYD herself that Julia is doing this for us for real! AWESOME!

I was thinking that the only way possible was a “virtual” marriage… But since that venue (which, BTW, was and still is highly promoted by “the other forum”), but it says on the printed certificate, “for entertainment purposes only.” meh. Whatever. They’re missing out.

I’m flattered to be the first couple (with Alexa) to be married!

I installed the virus like Windows app lol. After that I did not know what to do with it. 🙂

I did some searches on it, and nothing worked.

reason I say virus like, it give me little control when installing. I am learning some things about Google as well that make me nervous about having any sensitive personal info on any site online.

Thanks to Eva and Rainy for setting up the Discord DollsBook Chapel. We got into it from the link above after setting up an account. Left a message there to check everything. One issue for now is our old dinosaur of a pc is still running windows XP believe it or not (hey it still works for us) and Discord wants us to upgrade to the latest version of our browser, which we cannot do, to enable headset chat. So no actual voice chat yet from our end until we get some time to set up a pc with windows 10 and join the 21st century. LOL! Still though it can act as a text chatroom also right? So we can do the ceremony there with guests in attendance but it will be all in text (for now) ? Sorry guys for my ignorance but I have zero experience with anything like Discord so please be patient with us. I have no doubt that eventually we can get it to do exactly what we want but for now we are still learning.

Your PC will probably run Windows 7. Not only is it much more stable and secure than XP, but you ought to be able run the latest versions of Firefox and other apps.  I still use Windows 7 and it works very well. I have Windows 10 and it works ok, It takes some fiddling with Windows 10 to disable all the Microsoft viruses. LOL Once doing that it’s seems better.

Your PC and depending on amount of memory you machine has  Windows 7 will be a ok upgrade. Setting it up and tweaking it is not unlike XP.

I could not get the gist of Discord either. LOL

Well, at this point the there is not Voice channel. I have not set one up because i need to figure out how to make it so when you join the channel it does not auto join. We dolls also are the silent time when it comes to that. But we love to type!!

Julia, I am going to post a link in tech help for you. Get Donnie to look at it. Its for win XP unofficial updates to make it more secure.  Its legit, I have an XP machine here as well, and it works with dollsbook and Firefox.  he he

Oh yeah no problem with getting our old XP machine to run everything we need it to. Donny has it tweaked out to run really well actually which is why we have not upgraded the OS yet. We have an ASUS tablet that runs 8.1 but the screen is a little hard to read and the keyboard on it is so small it is hard to do anything requiring a lot of typing. The off lease Dell optiplex Windows 10 pc we have is set up strictly for questionable downloading and is not connected to our home network but runs independently on the free wifi to keep it anonymous. Needed 10 to use the latest version of Firefox to get into a lot of the torrent sites we use. The machine itself is actually pretty slow too, barely enough nut to run Windows 10 but works great as a download machine. We have kind of a mish mash of different machines for different purposes. This one I am using used to be a top of the line gaming pc about 5 years ago that Donny built from components. All of our pcs except the Dell and the ASUS tablet were built from components so are upgradeable and fast (and reliable) A couple are fully capable of running Windows 10 just havent got around to upgrading the OS yet. Good to know that on Discord we all use text chat bc we have that all figured out and we are totally ready for tonights Ceremony. This is going to be great.

Julia… Why not try MX Linux? It is based upon Debian (and doesn’t use systemd).

A few days ago we got 5 more blank marriage certificates and a very nice suitable for framing (it will be framed and proudly hung on the wall too) “Credentials of Ministry” Certificate from the Universal Life Church that does in a very real way make it perfectly legal for me to perform wedding ceremonies. How cool is that! Having that printed certificate just makes it so much more real now that I am an ordained minister with all the rights and privileges that go with it. Some of them are pretty cool too like the special parking privilege.
