I ordered a sinthetics in 2013 and put down a $2k deposit. I no longer want the doll. Bronwen has agreed to transfer my order to someone else but I must find another interested buyer. What I’m looking for is as much of my deposit back as possible. What an interested buyer gets, in addition to ‘only’ an order is 1) a $900 discount against the current price and 2) my place in the order queue based on a 2013 order date. I know that buyers interested in sinthetics are few and far between and I don’t expect anyone to be interested unless they know EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE GETTING INTO.
I am just a ‘drive by’ here at dollsbook and I am banned at ODC. So if you are interested please post at ODC as a ‘doll wanted’ or reply at the UK forum on topic http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11159

Yeah… @tdf091106 it’s futile now. Sorry to break the bad news, but just give it up. You need to take this Bronwen bitch to small claims. Nobody here will fall for that. We will support you in finding a TPE doll (and there is NOTHING wrong with them, seriously), but selling vaporware here (I knew you from TDF, which I’ve been banned from there), and you’ve been trying to get this doll from Sinthetics for 7 years. 7 years is too long. Get your money back. Lawyer up. We here will not buy something nonexistent. Get a TPE doll and be happy.
W9JYD returning Dollsbook to normal doll and their companion use.
No BS here, please. But, welcome to Dollsbook, but sorry, this doll is vaporware now. You got taken. Get a TPE doll.

Hmm sounds like quite a racket ordering one of these. Does it seem they do not want to swallow any costs in the beginning of your order? hehehehe worse system then buying a car
🙂
See images of some policies posted on the Sinthetics dot com site.
Note: we do not pour the silicone until it’s paid in full…. 10 years later… uhhh sorry man we can’t pour it’s dried up hehheehee no refunds dude!
One of a kind? I’m cynical, skeptical. lol 60 days is also pretty weak warranty for 6000+ dollars.
You can buy 4 or 5 different TPE dolls….. it’s up to you to make ’em stand out different from the crowd.. @purple95 has done a very nice job with his photography of his Mila. Keep up the good work!
If I truly wanted one of these I’d want to pay it off in full in one shot. But obviously the last sentence in the image, this is rare. And you’ll not have her come home until you do pay it off.
Another reason why TPE is a no nonsense way to go.
But if you put a 2000 dollar deposit down, then cancel. they retain 10%. Transferring orders? is Moooooooo Bullshit! They keep 200 bucks. 🙂 and refund the rest. If they insist on keeping it all they’d go bust with lawsuits.
or am I missing something?

Certainly a bummer about having to cancel your Sinthetics order. My suggestion would be to get something in writing from Sinthetics that can be verified i.e. transfer of deposit on official letterhead, there would have to be a check and balance to confirm everything is legit and the transfer will actually go through. If the transfer of deposit can be verified and confirmed it would still be a shot in the dark to find a buyer. I agree with Kevin, you may have to let this one go or at least not set your heart on selling right away and just hope for the best. In the mean time you can look for something else, there’s lots of other options out there even if you wanted to stick with silicone. Go with a vendor you can trust and one that is recommended by others.

I am well aware of the ‘problems’ with a sinthetics order. I’ll just gently point out that for reasons ‘related to the age of my order’, their refund policy as posted by rgc_lulu does not apply to me. The transfer of my order to another doll buyer is only going to happen if that other buyer has already decided to buy a Sin. In that case, it will be to their advantage AND, like any transaction with sinthetics, the details will have to be negotiated with Bronwen. Again, the up side to the hypothetical other buyer is $900 discount and favorable production scheduling. It is because of the difficulty for me finding another buyer, that I posted here on dollsbook when I became aware of dollsbook’s existence. As few doll forums as there are, and get real – Sin discussion is not happening at TDF, every additional place I can post improves my chances a bit.

Looking at the other replies, I have a couple of remarks. Flying out to CA to take them to small claims court would end up costing me so much that it wouldn’t be worth it, even if I thought I could get a judgement from the court. I have three lovely dolls, two 4woods and a BoyToy. I am not heartbroken about not getting a Sin.

Another remark. Doll manufacturers in the US, however few are left besides Abyss, are not worried about ‘real’ i.e. not small claims lawsuits. They know that the costs of a lawsuit so outweigh what they ‘owe’ the buyers that no buyer is going to throw that much good money after bad.

It’s a terrible system that needs revision.
There needs to be something that is protecting the consumer. You put down deposit, their policies state they retain 10% if cancelled. There is no fine print stating a time limit. (unless they write rules as they go along) Each case is different they claim? hmmm.
You ought to have a receipt to state you did provide deposit. Then they have to abide by their own policies. But 7 years is quite long. But since you did not pay off the balance, no doll was made. So they are not losing any production costs and are not stuck with a product. You having to find a buyer or transferring is quite ridiculous.
There is buyers remorse and people’s financial situations can change, so they are not able to save to pay it in full. So regardless how much time has gone by, you ought to be entitled to some compensation. At least what their policies state.
I just want to thank you for opening our eyes here. I did not think these sorts of practices were being done. Buying dolls in 50 easy payments of $129.99 seems a bit much for a toy. No?

@rgc_lulu. For reasons best explained by Bronwen (for those who don’t already know, she is one of the principals at Sinthetics) the refund policy as described on the Sin web site is not applicable to me. And BTW, I notified them of my desire for a refund years ago, way less than 7 years. Anyway, the reality of the situation is that it is really ONLY for a buyer who has already decided that they want a Sin and are ready to deal with whatever unusual business arrangements between them and Sinthetics need to happen. My interest is simply getting at least some of my deposit back. The hypothetical interested Sin buyer will need to exchange several emails among them, me, and Bronwen to work out the details of the transaction to understand and become satisfied that buying my order will be advantageous to them. One more time, based on my last communication with Bronwen, the value is a $900 discount (2013 pricing) and a favorable place in the production queue. To my understanding, a ‘favorable’ place means that the pouring of the doll based on my order would be based on the 2013 order date. Again, this would have to be confirmed to the buyer by Bronwen. I’m sorry to have to beat this to death. But I think most people in the doll hobby understand the exceptional circumstances of obtaining a Sinthetic from the company rather than a used doll from another person. I’m happy just to have another place (here) to be able to post about it with some chance that an interested buyer may see what I’m trying to sell.

Then you can sue her for breach of contract!
You asked for a refund.
She is telling you bullshit. Even refusing to honor your request.
Under the law, and IANAL, she is NOT upholding her end of the deal!
The doll DID NOT ENTER PRODUCTION. PERIOD. FULL STOP. GET YOUR MONEY BACK. Sue her. Nobody here on Dollsbook wants to buy a doll that DOES NOT EXIST!
This is why Sinthetics has been BANNED from other doll communities, shady shit like that.
And go to https://www.matproducts.biz or https://www.finelovedolls.com/shop and GET A DOLL WITHIN 4 WEEKS.
Jesus Christ, I’m about to lock this fuckin thread…
